Job Summary:

 

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) Temporary Research Analyst 1 position for the College of Business, School of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain Logistics, at Oregon State University (OSU ).

 

This position supports research efforts in the College of Business and is responsible for conducting both primary and secondary research on industrial hemp. The research will focus on identifying use cases, growth, production, distribution characteristics and challenges for industrial hemp. The goal of this project is to provide community leaders, financial decision-makers, policymakers, and regulators with sound, science-based and business-relevant information to support the development of a hemp-based bioeconomy in the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

 

50 % - Produce a comprehensive literature review, focusing on:

 

• Various production methods for industrial hemp-derived products

• Applications and market opportunities for hemp-based products

• Limited interpretation of relevant information from the literature to inform findings

 

50 % - Conduct literature surveys and interviews to assess:

 

• Existing capacities for hemp cultivation and production in the Pacific Northwest

• Challenges faced by the hemp industry in the Pacific Northwest

• Key themes and trends through descriptive analysis of the survey and interview data

 

What You Will Need

 

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite of tools

• Familiarity with conducting literature surveys

 

What We Would Like You to Have


 

• Bachelors degree in a business-related discipline

• Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management and/or Marketing

• Experience in the agriculture sector with an emphasis on hemp

 

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

 

Work will be performed remotely on a PC with the requirement for bi-monthly meetings with the principal investigator to present results. This position, with supervisor approval, is eligible for a remote work schedule, based out of Corvallis, OR.
