Junior Maintenance Engineer

Junior Maintenance Engineer

Englewood Cliffs, NJ (onsite requirement)

$60-70k (negotiable, depends on experience) 

Shift: 6 AM – 2 PM

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for working in a production engineering environment supporting live broadcasts and programming. You will play a key role in studio & control rooms. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will design and perform deployments for audio and visual systems. You will aid in configuration, system changes and upgrades for technical facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field OR relevant professional training OR Military experience 
  • 6 months+ of recent experience in a broadcast environment 
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts based on environment needs 
  • Experience working with broadcast systems, design & software including AutoCAD, Evertz, Cisco, Control Room, etc. strongly preferred 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system level design/documentation and deployments for Video Router, Studio RF and Wireless Systems, Studio Audio Technology, Dante Audio Systems, RTS Intercoms, and the latest Transmission/Fiber Transport Technology. 
  • Create Electrical Schematics and Logic documentation for system development, implementation, and support.
  • Implement configurations and system changes for current technical facilities, including, but not limited to, Control Room Audio Systems, Studio Production Equipment, Media or Signal Acquisition Systems, and Radio or RF Systems, and Fiber Transmission Equipment.
  • Communicate with Technical Operations & News Production communities to understand and discuss project & system requirements. In-turn create project plans for PMO teams.
  • Leading, maintaining, and prioritizing varied engineering and commissioning projects including new 4K IP Control Rooms, latest Audio Over IP Technology, expanded Digital Intercom Systems, Production Studio Migrations, new SNP Cross-Site Production Connectivity, as well as an understanding of current HD-SDI technology. 
  • Create handoff documentation for fellow team members using Jira, Confluence, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Visio.
