Engineering Technician II (AX1788)
Education: High School Diploma / GED
Months/Years of Experience: Three (3) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or
testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or two (2) years of applicable
college/vocational/military/technical school and one (1) year of applicable experience in the assigned
specialty area; and the following additional requirements: Mechanical – Must have successful
completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and one (1) year of experience in mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or
testing of military hardware.
Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizen. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain
and maintain a security clearance. Ability to follow detailed operating procedures. Repeated
manual lifting up to 50lbs is required. Ability to operate a forklift and a medium duty truck required
(CDL not required).
Desired Qualifications: Military experience or associate degree in engineering technology
desired. Basic electronic/computer troubleshooting skills. AMMO certification desired.
Skills Needed: Proficient with software tools such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with automotive or diesel repair a plus.
Duties:
*Travel to locations around the world to support missile testing.
*Support the setup, operation/data collection, and shut down of test sets and test equipment
installed in a specially modified test vehicle.
*Perform routine maintenance on test sets and test equipment/instrumentation.
*Drive a specially modified vehicle to travel to any locations accessible by land travel.
