SDA Lighting and Controls is one of the largest independent lighting fixture and controls manufacturer’s representatives in the nation.

SDA Lighting's Controls division is outpacing the growth of the dynamic market for lighting controls and is currently looking for a qualified and motivated individual to fill an inside sales position in our Lighting Controls division. This person would assist in the design, quoting, project management and implementation of controls systems while supporting the efforts of our outside Controls Salesperson.

Job Description:

Design of integrated lighting control systems consisting of: product selection, design of basic riser diagrams, development of specifications and contract documents. Controls Specialist

• Review of project drawings, and construction contract specifications to establish project requirements.
• Serve as a technical resource to agency sales staff as well as customer base.
• Project Management
• Quote Support
• Crossing over of competitive control systems
• Troubleshooting of installed systems and basic field service.
• Conduct onsite pre-wire meetings ahead of product installation

Basic Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Familiarity with control theory
• Ability to read construction documents
• Understanding of electrical distribution
• Computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools such as AutoCAD 2D, BlueBeam, etc.
• Basic understanding of computer networking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.

Supplemental Qualifications:

· Familiarity with building automation systems

· Experience with Theatrical controls and DMX distribution

· Knowledge of Industrial and other control systems

· Knowledge of building energy codes or sustainable building practices
