Graduate Intern: People Operations

Job Summary

The People Operations intern will support senior leadership in HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and team culture development. You will develop the intern handbook for a growing organization, adapting language and policies to suit strategic needs. You will also own all personnel documentation, including writing job descriptions and offer letters and maintaining organized electronic filing systems. The People Operations intern may also draft and analyze employee engagement surveys and assist senior leadership in planning company-wide culture-building events. 

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Recruiting & Hiring: Posting job ads, screening resumes, organizing interviews, and recruiting interns and employees
  • Onboarding & Training: Design and facilitate onboarding programs to familiarize new interns and employees with the company’s mission, values, and job expectations
  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee and intern records, ensuring compliance with standards
  • Employee Development: Contribute to developing mentorship programs and structured feedback processes for interns as well as training
  • Employee Relations: Maintaining positive relationships within the team, fostering a healthy workplace culture
  • Job Analysis & Design: Conducting job analysis to create accurate job descriptions and role structures
  • Strategic Development: Create and implement strategies that support both business goals and employee/intern engagement

 

Who You Are

  • Emerging HR professional with knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement best practices
  • Interested in the recruitment & hiring process, from writing job descriptions, to posting roles, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews with attention to detail and brand alignment
  • Organized multitasker with strong time management skills and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaborative team player who values mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Analytical and strategic thinker who connects people initiatives to business goals and company culture
  • Curious about the luxury jewelry industry and interested in learning about startup operations

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Working in a hybrid office environment
  • One day a week in-office (day TBD and based on interns’ schedules)
  • One Zoom meeting per week (time/day TBD and based on interns’ schedules)
  • Able to sit and perform computer works for prolonged periods
  • Minimal Physical Demands (Able to lift small items up to 20 lbs)

 

Required Education

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Working towards graduate degree

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Experience supporting onboarding, training, or employee engagement initiatives in academic, volunteer, or work settings
  • Understanding of HR compliance standards, documentation practices, and confidentiality protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to represent the brand’s tone and values in internal and external interactions
  • Proven ability to foster inclusion and cultural awareness in team dynamics or community settings
