Head of Tennis (PAID Internship Available)

The Head of Tennis is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tennis program at Camp Winnebago. This includes planning instruction, mentoring tennis staff, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and ensuring that tennis is a fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experience for campers of all skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead daily tennis instruction for campers of varying ages and abilities

Oversee and mentor tennis staff and counselors

Create lesson plans that balance skill development, gameplay, and fun

Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere on the courts

Support campers in building confidence, sportsmanship, and a love for the game

Coordinate tennis tournaments, challenges, or special events as appropriate

Ensure safety on the courts and proper use of equipment

Collaborate with other program heads and camp leadership

Model strong leadership, professionalism, and healthy boundaries

Qualifications

Strong background in tennis instruction, coaching, or competitive play

Experience working with children or adolescents in a teaching, coaching, or camp setting

Ability to lead and mentor staff effectively

Excellent communication and organizational skills

A positive, patient, and adaptable leadership style

Prior camp experience is a plus, but not required
