Year of Professional Design Experience: 0+
Educational and Professional Credentials: Undergraduate or Graduate Enrolled in Civil Engineering Program from ABET accredited school, preferably with focus on Structural Engineering
Description and Responsibilities:
Works on components of a variety of projects in a learning environment, under the guidance of senior engineers. Should be hardworking and prepared to continue the tradition of perpetual learning.
Duties may include the following:
- Drafting of structural framing plans, sections, and details using AutoCad and/or Revit software.
- Preparing analysis & design calculations for projects using various material and building codes.
- Creating Excel spreadsheets and utilize various analysis & design programs.
- Utilizing Bluebeam Revu for drafting markups and creating sketches
- Visiting sites to assist in documenting and surveying existing framing conditions.
- Visiting sites to observe, document & report on the progress of on-going work.
- Reviewing submittals (shop drawings, RFI’s, etc.)
- Researching new materials and construction techniques.
- Evaluating and a creating a presentation at the end of the internship experience.
Some physical aspects of the job include visiting job sites to measure and document existing conditions. The candidate will have to be able to climb ladders and scaffolds as part of the field investigation procedures.
Salary Range: $19-22/hour
