Environmental Design Intern

As an Intern at Sparks, you'll have the opportunity to learn from the best in the business and make a real impact on our clients' events. You'll work closely with diverse teams to collaborate on innovative projects while building professional communication and business strategy aptitude. In addition to learning the ropes of the live events world, you'll also have the chance to network with other professionals in the event industry, attend industry events, and gain exposure to our latest technologies and trends. As an Environmental Design Intern, you will work closely with Sparks' creative team which includes architects, interior designers, graphic designers, and creative strategists, to name a few. You will be involved in a variety of ongoing projects, which will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience in experiential design and expand your knowledge and skills in this field. You will work alongside fellow designers and creative directors throughout the entire design process. From initial brainstorming and conceptual ideation to the production of control drawings, you will be involved in various tasks such as research, sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, drafting, furniture sourcing, and creating presentations.  

 

This position is located in New York, NY supporting our Creative team and follows a in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or showsite.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Energetic and outgoing
  • Experience with 3D design and modeling software such as SketchUp, Rhino, and AutoCAD,Vectorworks, Render Engines, Vray, Vantage, Enscape
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at using social media and other digital tools
  • Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office
  • Available to work for 10 weeks during the summer of 2026

 

Education & Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or related field
  • Junior, Senior, or recently Graduated
