Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the delivery of speech and language services to students under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) requirements, IDEA, and charter policies. The SLPA assists with implementing IEP-aligned speech-language services to support students’ communication, academic, and social development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Service Delivery

  • Implement speech-language therapy activities as outlined in students’ IEPs and designed by the supervising SLP
  • Provide services to students individually or in small groups under SLP supervision
  • Follow therapy plans targeting articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social-communication skills
  • Use evidence-based instructional and therapeutic strategies

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate service logs, progress notes, and data collection in compliance with IDEA and Arizona requirements
  • Support the SLP with progress monitoring and reporting toward IEP goals
  • Ensure confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA
  • Adhere to timelines and service minutes as outlined in students’ IEPs

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress, concerns, and needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student outcomes
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required (excluding independent IEP decision-making)

Professional Responsibilities

  • Follow all ethical guidelines established by ADHS and the supervising SLP
  • Maintain professional conduct and positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Attend required professional development and supervision meetings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Arizona SLPA License issued by ADHS (required) (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
