Adams State University | Remote | Full‑Time (1.0 FTE)

Adams State University is expanding our Admissions team! We are seeking two motivated, relationship‑driven Admissions Counselors to support student recruitment and outreach in the Colorado Springs/Pueblo region and the New Mexico/Southwest region.

Salary: $35,568-$42,700

✨ Positions Available

1️⃣ Admissions Counselor – Colorado Springs / Pueblo Region

📍 Remote – Ideally based in Colorado Springs
🗺 Territory includes: Colorado Springs, Pueblo, South Denver & suburbs, Eastern Plains, and other U.S. states as needed.

 

2️⃣ Admissions Counselor – New Mexico / Southwest Region

📍 Remote – Ideally based in Santa Fe, NM
🗺 Territory includes: New Mexico, Western Colorado, Arizona, and California, with possible travel to additional states.

 

💼 What You’ll Do

In both roles, you will:

  • Counsel and guide prospective students throughout the admissions process.
  • Represent Adams State University at college fairs, high school visits, conferences, and community events.
  • Build strong relationships with high school counselors and key stakeholders in your region.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and conduct student/parent interviews.
  • Support students with admissions, financial aid, and scholarship processes.
  • Coordinate recruitment initiatives, special events, and campus visit experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with university departments to support student success.
  • Assist in developing marketing and social media content.
  • Maintain accurate data through Workday and other platforms.
  • Travel regularly throughout your region and work occasional evenings/weekends.

     

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, marketing, etc.)
  • 1–3 years of professional experience
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet performance goals
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved student populations
  • Proficiency with technology (Workday, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)

  • Experience in higher education admissions or advising
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Initiative in creating new recruitment opportunities
  • Experience handling sensitive information professionally
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

 

🏡 Work Environment

  • Fully remote within the assigned region
  • Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace
  • University-issued laptop provided
  • Extensive regional travel required, with occasional overnight trips
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
