About Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc.

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering young women through college and career readiness, professional development, and exposure to opportunity. We are seeking a motivated and passionate Social Media & Marketing Intern to support and deliver impactful programming that uplifts our participants and the broader community.

What You Will Do

Content Scheduling & Platform Management

  • Schedule and publish content across Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. social media platforms — Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok — using Buffer, maintaining a consistent and on-brand posting schedule.
  • Work from a content calendar developed in collaboration with the Executive Director and Programs Coordinator Intern, ensuring posts align with upcoming programs, events, and campaigns.
  • Write captions, post copy, and short-form content that reflects the organization's voice, mission, and visual brand guide.
  • Monitor social media comments and messages and flag items requiring a response to the Executive Director.

Brand & Visual Standards

  • Study and apply the Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. visual brand guide to all content posted — ensuring consistency in fonts, colors, tone, and style across all platforms.
  • Coordinate with the Graphic Design Intern to receive finalized graphics and assets for posting — this role does not design, but is responsible for ensuring everything posted meets brand standards before going live.

Email & Newsletter Communications

  • Write and distribute monthly e-newsletters to donors, supporters, partners, and community members.
  • Assist in drafting announcement emails, event invitations, and follow-up communications as needed.

Event Coverage & Content Capture

  • Attend select in-person Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. events to record video and capture photo content for social media and organizational archives.
  • Must be comfortable on camera and willing to appear as a host or on-screen presence when needed for promotional or recap content.
  • Edit or assist in editing recorded event content into short, shareable clips for social platforms.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track monthly social media analytics — follower growth, engagement rate, reach, and post performance — and report findings to the Executive Director.
  • Use data to identify what content performs best and bring recommendations to improve the content strategy.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms — you know what performs and why
  • Excellent writing voice — conversational, clear, compelling, and consistent with brand
  • Comfortable managing a content calendar independently and meeting self-set deadlines
  • Able to follow a visual brand guide and apply it consistently without deviating
  • Available to attend select in-person events to capture content (local availability required)
  • Comfortable being on camera as a host or on-screen presence when needed
  • Basic video recording and editing skills for short-form content a strong plus
  • Experience using Buffer or similar scheduling tools a plus
  • Genuine interest in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, or community storytelling

Onboarding & Support

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for this role will be provided at onboarding. You will have a clear step-by-step guide for every core task in this role before your first week begins.

Professional Exposure

You will gain access to Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. company partners and may be introduced to professionals and organizations in marketing, media, nonprofit communications, and community development as opportunities become available. You will also be assigned a professional volunteer during your time here who will help you grow in this role as well as share real world experience in the field.
