THE MORRIS COUNTY PARK COMMISSION
Position Charter:
Under supervision of the Director of Parks & Visitor Services or his/her designee; Turf Rangers are responsible for assisting patrons when using the Turf Fields at Central Park of Morris County. This includes but not limited to: checking permits, enforcing Turf Rules, as well as basic cleaning and up keep of the surrounding areas.
Essential Functions:
- Enforces all Morris County Park Commission’s Policies, Rules, and Regulations.
- Checks all Turf rental permits.
- Alerts patrons of the facilities rules.
- Ensure renters properly remove themselves from the fields accordingly.
- Pick up and dispose of garbage left around the fields.
- Make sure all goals have weights properly place and have moved the goals back to the correct locations at the end of a rental.
- Use the mat and drag the softball field, when time allows.
- Check Permits at the surrounding areas (Challenger)
- Responds effectively to emergencies.
- Reports unsafe conditions and equipment to the chain of command.
- Participates in limited, specified, in‐service training.
- Completes additional duties as assigned by chain of command.
Other Functions:
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- First aid training recommended.
- Very good customer service skills particularly in effectively communicating with others.
- Outgoing, friendly attitude and ability to be self‐directed and responsible is also helpful.
- Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
- Minimum age requirement of 18.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
- Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Seasonal period is defined as a work period up to a maximum of 6 months.
