Entry-Level Construction Planner-Scheduler
About the Role
Streamline Management Solutions (SMS) is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Construction Planner / Scheduler to support planning and scheduling efforts on complex, high-profile construction projects.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is intellectually curious about how construction projects operate and seeks exposure to real-world project strategy, sequencing, and controls.
You will work directly with project teams to develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, track progress, and support project decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of detailed CPM construction schedules using Primavera P6
- Support schedule updates, progress tracking, and look-ahead planning
- Collect and analyze project data from contracts, drawings, field teams, A/E, subcontractors, and clients
- Track as-built information and compare actual progress against planned sequences
- Assist in evaluating the schedule impact of project changes and modifications
- Support preparation of schedule reports and milestone assessments
- Coordinate with project management and construction teams to provide schedule-related input for change requests, cost proposals, and recovery strategies
Qualifications
- BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture
- 0–2 years of construction or related experience
- Basic understanding of construction processes, trade sequencing, and project lifecycles
- Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Understanding of CPM principles and methodology
- Proficiency (or willingness to learn) Primavera P6 and Excel
- Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented environment
