Location: Chicagoland and western suburbs – Naperville, IL 60563
Employment type: Seasonal (April thru November) with possibility of winter season [minimum of 3 years of Horticulture experience required)
Physical:
- Body positions and movements: this position requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, the ability to stoop, squat, kneel, bend, twist, and move heavy objects and work in inclement weather.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure quality project outcome and training of field staff.
- Support staff in the areas of landscape maintenance and all aspects of proper horticultural practices.
- Care of shrubs, trees, perennials and annuals.
- Sales and collaboration with the landscape architect/design and construction teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their maintenance needs, budgets, and long-term goals
- Perform and oversee physically demanding tasks with strength, stamina, and determination.
- Provide hands-on support and training to field staff to ensure quality project outcomes
- Identify plant types and ensure proper planting based on site conditions and environmental needs.
- Maintain plants, including watering, pruning, and all aspects of proper horticultural practices.
- Complete seasonal color rotations in-ground and in container pots.
- Support the landscape maintenance teams through direct field work and supervision.
- Oversee and ensure proper care of shrubs, trees, perennials, and annuals.
- Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance with a clean company uniform.
