Environmental Protection Program Specialist (Natural Resources)

The Environmental Protection Program Specialist supports Connecticut DEEP’s Forest Protection Program by coordinating statewide wildfire preparedness and response, supervising fire control staff, reviewing forestry and prescribed burn plans, and managing state and federal grants. The role requires strong skills in natural resource management, wildfire behavior, program coordination, communication, data analysis, and interpreting environmental regulations. Candidates must have at least eight years of technical experience in fisheries, forestry, wildlife, or related natural resources work (with possible education substitutions), along with the ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
