Special Effects Artist – Multimedia Team (A Free Bird)

Position Overview
A Free Bird is seeking a talented and imaginative Volunteer Special Effects Artist to support the Multimedia team. This role focuses on creating dynamic and visually engaging effects that enhance video content produced by and for the children we support. The Special Effects Artist will collaborate closely with Multimedia Managers and leadership to bring creative concepts to life and elevate the overall production quality across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality special effects and visual enhancements for video and multimedia projects
  • Collaborate with Multimedia Managers, video editors, and creative teams to meet project goals and artistic direction
  • Contribute to the production of music videos and creative content by integrating special effects aligned with project guidelines
  • Develop innovative artistic concepts and execute them through visual effects techniques
  • Manipulate elements such as light, color, texture, shadow, and motion to enhance storytelling and visual impact
  • Ensure all effects are consistent with branding and overall creative vision
  • Assist with multimedia projects and provide creative input as needed
  • Support the release of content across platforms including YouTube and social media

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience with special effects, motion graphics, or visual effects in video production
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Blender, or similar software
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, animation, and compositing techniques
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams and follow artistic direction
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on music videos or creative multimedia content
  • Knowledge of 3D animation, compositing, or advanced visual effects techniques
  • Familiarity with social media content production and optimization
