The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) is recruiting to hire passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our psychiatric care team in Middletown, CT.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
POSITION#1 (PCN: 44690)
- LOCATION: Kiwani Unit in Middletown, CT
- SHIFT: Second shift | Full-time, 40 hours per week
- SCHEDULE: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM with a biweekly schedule (Week one: Saturday and Sunday off. Week two: Friday and Tuesday off.)
POSITION #2 (PCN: 97392)
- LOCATION: Lakota Unit in Middletown, CT
- SHIFT: First shift | Full-time, 40 hours per week
- SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with a biweekly schedule (Week one: Saturday and Sunday off. Week two: Friday and Tuesday off.)

Note: For second and third shift positions, you may be approved for an additional compensation bonus.
- Each Registered Nurse who is permanently assigned to the second or third shift shall receive a “recruitment and retention” yearly bonus of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). This bonus shall be pro-rated for part-time Registered Nurses. In order to be eligible for this bonus, the Employee must have completed one year of service in the registered nurse classification.

Working as a Nurse with the CT Department of Children and Families is a huge opportunity to positively impact the adolescent population in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) setting, this includes medical intervention, trauma support and recovery, and being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will:
- Provide nursing care for behavioral health adolescent patients within the nursing scope of practice.
- Collaborate with interprofessional team members to provide patient excellence in care and treatments.
- Provide substantial input regarding patient care needs.
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessment for adolescents with acute psychiatric and/or dual diagnosis, and;
- Provide direct patient care that includes education, counseling, medication administration and documentation of the treatment plan and ongoing interventions of care.

The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center – South Campus is a state-administered Psychiatric facility for Connecticut’s children who are under the age of eighteen, located on a 67-acre campus at 915 River Road, Middletown, CT 06457.
The center provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents with severe mental illness and related behavior and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting. The south campus consists of four co-ed hospital units and three female adolescent psychiatric residential treatment facility cottages (PRTF). The Solnit Center facilities support our dedication to helping youth improve their individual and social competencies.
