Program Information
OEM has run its internship program for more than a decade to provide hands-on learning opportunities for future emergency managers. Participants management projects, develop plans, and respond to incidents under the mentorship of OEM staff. Alumni from our program have gone on to work in emergency management in local, state, federal, non-profit, and private sector roles.
Please note that OEM internships are unpaid. We comply with Department of Labor standards for unpaid internships by providing participants educational opportunities through experiential learning. We do not guarantee employment at the end of the opportunity. Because these are unpaid internships, we are highly flexible with intern schedules.
