The DeRocco Fellowship is a competitive leadership development program designed for women pursuing careers in advanced manufacturing. The DeRocco Fellowship offers women the opportunity to explore a leadership pathway in advanced manufacturing.

This Fellowship enhances your existing summer internship or work experience by providing mentorship, professional development, and access to a national network of industry leaders.

Important Notes

• The DeRocco Fellowship is not an internship program. You must already have a confirmed summer internship or work experience to apply.
• The program runs approximately June 1–Aug 30, 2026. We estimate these experiences will require 3 to 5 hours per month of your time + two full days for workshop attendance + travel in late July. 
• Employer partners may recommend candidates, but all applicants must apply directly

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have a confirmed internship or work placement (job, co-op, apprenticeship, etc.) for Summer 2026
  • If selected, Fellows are expected to negotiate participation/time off needed to complete Fellowship activities with their supervisor directly. 
• Be enrolled in a postsecondary program (community college or university; all majors welcome)
• Have completed at least one full semester
• Have an interest in exploring a leadership career in manufacturing

Compensation 

• Fellows do not receive direct compensation for participating in the program
• The program covers all professional development costs
• Travel, lodging, and meals for the Austin workshop are fully covered by the program
