POSITION SUMMARY This onsite, unpaid internship provides exposure to the day-to-day operations of a working managed services provider. The scope is intentionally broad — ranging from hardware and inventory work through cloud, cybersecurity, and back-office operations — so the intern gains visibility into how a real MSP runs. The intern is the primary beneficiary of this experience; the position is educational, is not a substitute for paid employment, and does not entitle the intern to any paid position. SCOPE OF EXPOSURE Work may include any of the following, at the discretion of IT Vortex: ▸ Hardware and equipment inventory — receiving, tagging, tracking, and staging. ▸ Workstation and endpoint setup, imaging, and provisioning. ▸ Exposure to private cloud operations on VMware and Nutanix platforms. ▸ Exposure to cybersecurity tooling, including Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, and related platforms. ▸ Exposure to backup and disaster recovery operations on Veeam. ▸ Shadowing NOC and engineering staff during monitoring, change, and incident activity. ▸ Internal documentation, knowledge base, and runbook support. ▸ General IT operations, office technology, and administrative tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS ▸ Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in a technology, information systems, cybersecurity, or closely related field. ▸ Verified eligibility to receive academic credit for the internship from the participant's academic institution; a signed affiliation or credit agreement must be on file prior to start. ▸ Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to commute onsite to 237 W Midland Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652. ▸ Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, and basic cybersecurity concepts. ▸ Professional written and verbal communication; discretion appropriate to a client-facing environment. STRUCTURE ▸ Location: Fully onsite at IT Vortex headquarters, Paramus, NJ. Not remote or hybrid. ▸ Schedule and duration: Flexible and mutually arranged around the intern's academic calendar. IMPORTANT NOTICES ▸ Unpaid. No wages, salary, stipend, or other monetary compensation will be provided. ▸ Academic credit required. Participation requires the intern receive academic credit from an accredited institution for the duration of the program. ▸ Non-displacement. Intern work complements — and does not displace — the work of paid IT Vortex employees. ▸ No entitlement to employment. Completion creates no obligation on the part of IT Vortex to offer paid employment. ▸ At-will. The internship may be ended at any time by either party, with or without cause or notice. ▸ Confidentiality.
