Solution Engineer

Open Position: Solution Engineer (HV Technical Track)

We are actively recruiting Solution Engineers to join SHEMAR’s North America technical team. This role is designed for graduating PhD and MS students with research backgrounds in high-voltage engineering, insulation systems, composite/polymer materials, or power systems.

Role Overview
Solution Engineers serve as the technical bridge between SHEMAR’s global R&D platform and the North American market. This is not a lab-only or support-only role — it is a position where deep technical knowledge directly drives commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and adapt composite insulation solutions for U.S. transmission and substation applications (69kV–765kV+)
• Partner with global R&D teams on materials characterization, product qualification, and standards compliance (IEEE, ANSI, ASTM, IEC)
• Provide technical authority in customer-facing engagements with U.S. utilities, OEMs, and EPCs
• Support system design, proposal development, and technical strategy for major grid infrastructure projects
• Contribute to failure analysis, field performance evaluation, and continuous product improvement

Ideal Candidate Profile
• Education: PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering (High Voltage / Insulation / Dielectrics / Power Systems), Materials Science, or closely related field from a top-tier U.S. research university
• Research relevance: Polymer/composite insulation, dielectric materials, HV testing and characterization, aging mechanisms, electric field simulation, or substation/transmission system design
• Experience: Current graduating students (2026) or candidates with 0–3 years post-graduation industry/postdoc experience
• Publications: IEEE TDEI, IEEE PES, CIGRE, or equivalent peer-reviewed venues preferred

What We Offer
• Competitive compensation — base + bonus + long-term incentives; significantly above academic postdoc levels
• Direct product impact — your work goes into deployed infrastructure, not publications alone
• Global R&D collaboration — work with deep materials science expertise across U.S., China, and international teams
• Technical leadership path — clear trajectory to lead engineering functions as the U.S. team scales
• Visa sponsorship — H-1B and STEM OPT fully supported
• International exposure — rotation opportunities and mentorship from global
engineering leadership
