Interfaith Neighbors is now hosting an AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate — and we’re looking for someone ready to make a real impact.

About Interfaith Neighbors (Your Host Site):
You’ll serve on the ground with our Community Food Connection Farm to Family Initiative and Kula Urban Farm, helping expand access to fresh, local food.
✔ Distribute produce to families across Monmouth County
✔ Work hands-on at an urban farm
✔ Support community outreach and food justice efforts

About AmeriCorps (Your Service Program):
This is a 10-week, full-time national service role focused on fighting poverty and strengthening communities.

✔ Professional training and leadership development
✔ Access to a national alumni network and career pathways

June 15 – August 23
Must be 18+ and eligible for AmeriCorps service

You will receive a Living Allowance to cover basic expenses during your service term, based on county cost-of-living guidelines established by AmeriCorps, and an End of Year Award. Choose between $1,565.08 Education Award or Cash Stipend of $345.80.

Expected Responsibilities include distributing fresh produce from N.J. farmers to individuals at community sites around Monmouth County, helping to increase awareness of federal nutrition benefits like SNAP, sharing knowledge on cooking fresh plant-based meals with the produce, recruiting volunteers, etc.
