Entry Level Junior Estimator

PBM Painting, LLC is currently interviewing for an Entry Level Junior Estimator position. The ideal candidate is a senior college student graduating in May 2026, majoring in construction management, civil engineering technology, architectural engineering, or mechanical engineering. 

Our firm is looking for a technically savvy individual who is good with numbers, detail oriented, a good verbal communicator, able to speak with anyone, mature, and hardworking. For someone who is enthusiastic and wants to work in a fast-paced atmosphere, there is a great opportunity to learn and grow.

50k annual salary

No previous work experience required, but an interest in estimating is highly recommended. Training will be provided. This position is math heavy. 

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Take-offs: Learn to perform precise measurements of surfaces and materials from architectural blueprints.

Labor Calculations: Assist in estimating "man-days" and crew productivity based on project scope.

Data Management: Utilize Excel to build and maintain logic-based estimating spreadsheets.

Technical Writing: Draft formal Request for Information (RFIs) to architects and detailed project proposals.

Growth Path: As you gain experience, you will eventually participate in local site visits to verify field conditions against your estimates

Qualifications

Math Proficiency: Must be highly comfortable with spatial math (area, volume, and unit conversions).

Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret floor plans, elevations, and finish schedules.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel is a must; experience with Bluebeam or AutoCAD is a plus.
