Summer Endowment Intern, Artificial Intelligence and Automation

Location:                    New York

Reports to:                 Managing Director, IT and Facilities Infrastructure

Job Type:                   Temporary

FLSA Status:             Non-Exempt (Overtime-Eligible)

Compensation:          $17.00/hour 

Schedule:                   Estimated 24 hrs/week; Monday – Thursday 

Duration:                   8 weeks

 

Summary:

Asia Society’s Digital Strategy and Solutions team is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking intern to support the development and implementation of artificial intelligence tools, workflow automations, and system integrations across the institution. 

 

The Artificial Intelligence and Automation Intern will assist in identifying opportunities where AI driven solutions can streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, enhance decision making, and improve operational efficiency. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands on experience working with enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365, Salesforce, marketing systems, collaboration tools, and emerging generative AI technologies. 

 

The intern will collaborate with cross functional teams including development, finance, marketing, museum operations, and executive leadership to design practical AI enabled solutions that align with institutional priorities. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluate, and test AI platforms and automation tools suitable for nonprofit operations. 
  • Build prototype automations using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Azure AI services, Salesforce automation features, and other approved platforms. 
  • Support integration efforts between CRM, marketing systems, finance systems, collaboration platforms, and cloud services. 
  • Identify repetitive manual tasks that can be streamlined through automation. 
  • Develop and test small scale automation scripts or low code solutions. 
  • Develop documentation for AI workflows and automation processes. 
  • Assist in preparing internal guidance materials and training sessions for staff. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and not yet have graduated at the time of the internship in computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, business analytics, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and enterprise technology. 
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services, or similar platforms. 
  • Experience with low code or no code automation tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, or similar tools preferred. 
  • Basic understanding of APIs, data structures, and system integrations. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
