Structural Project Engineer
Varano Tovinsky LLC is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our structural engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various types of mixed use, multi-family, commercial, retail, industrial, educational, and single-family structures constructed with wood, concrete, steel, light gauge framing and masonry. The job description, responsibilities and qualifications of this position are as follows:
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Work alongside Principals or Project Managers and assist with daily tasks
- Assist with preparation of construction document packages in AutoCAD and Revit
- Assist with construction administration (Shop drawings, RFIs, sketches, etc)
- Perform code compliant structural engineering design calculations and analysis
- Perform site visits
- Collaborate and coordinate with clients
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 3-6 years of experience
- Structural Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 2 years
- Skilled in performing structural analysis and design calculations through engineering software and manual calculations
- Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment while meeting client needs and deadlines.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills
- Experience with RISA, STAAD, RAM, and Bentley software
- Familiarity with applicable Design Codes (IBC, ASCE, etc.)
- Experience with steel, wood, concrete, masonry, and light-gauge systems is preferred, though not required
- Working knowledge with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
