Walter L Martinez Architect, pllc (WLM_A) is an architectural consulting practice dedicated to the design, fabrication, and construction of building envelope systems, based in Suffern, New York, and working nationwide with projects in NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, and WY.
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and detail oriented individual who is enthusiastic in learning about building envelopes. We focus on the technical and design detail aspects of building facades and roofs. This is a great opportunity to learn about building envelopes and in acquiring mentorship directly from an experienced licensed design professional.
Qualifications:
- Architecture Student, minimum 2 years college experience
- 0-1 years professional work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Research skills
- Ability to travel/drive to project sites
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, SketchUp, Adobe Acrobat
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with strong time management skills
- Strong hand-sketching skills
- Ability to work on project sites
- Knowledge of Building Envelopes is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Drafting & detailing
- Researching (Building Codes, Industry Standards, material evaluations, etc.)
- Technical report writing
- Assisting with field assessments
- General office duties
