About the role
The Local Business Research Intern will help AI Business Boomer with research local businesses, website gaps, service areas, reviews, competitors, and lead follow-up opportunities. This is hands-on startup work for students who want practical experience with AI, websites, operations, content, research, and small business systems.

What the intern will do
- Support real projects tied to local business websites, AI workflows, lead follow-up, content, or operations.
- Research examples, organize findings, and turn rough ideas into useful drafts or checklists.
- Use AI tools carefully, then review and improve the output with human judgment.
- Track work clearly in shared docs, sheets, or project boards.
- Share concise recommendations that help move a project forward.

What they will learn
You will learn market research, lead qualification, local business analysis, spreadsheet organization, and AI-assisted research checks. You will see how a lean startup turns messy business problems into clearer systems.

Who is a good fit
You are curious, reliable, practical, and comfortable learning new tools. You like clear communication and you care about work that a real small business owner could understand and use.

Example first project
Build a prospect list of 75 local businesses, tag website quality, and identify the strongest 15 preview candidates.

Requirements
- Strong written communication.
- Reliable follow-through.
- Comfort using Google Docs, Sheets, and common web tools.
- Interest in AI, startups, local business, marketing, operations, product, communications, or technology.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice-to-have skills
Google Maps, LinkedIn, CRM work, SEO tools, data entry, market research.

Hours / schedule
Remote internship, 5-15 hours per week, flexible schedule. Start date is rolling/as soon as possible. Expected duration is 8-12 weeks with an option to extend.
