Ship Survivability Engineer
The Ship Survivability Engineer will provide support to several U.S. Navy ship Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) Programs in developing digital models, conducting vulnerability and recoverability (V&R) analysis, and preparing associated reports. Programs supported will include one or more of the following: DDG 51 Flight III, FF(X), LPD 17 Flight II, and LHA 8. Initial primary tasking will involve extracting ship systems information from the shipbuilder provided product models in order to develop the ship description database (model) for use in the Integrated Recoverability Model (IRM). The SSA will then assist team members in making the IRM ship models properly emulate systems response to damage, including crew actions to isolate damage and reconfigure systems and conduct damage control and fire fighting actions. The SSA will assist in conducting model verification and validation (V&V) activities and preparing associated V&V reports. The SSA will conduct simulations and analysis, prepare analysis presentations, and prepare inputs to the Survivability Analysis Reports (SAR).
