Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer
Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

ABS Engineering is currently seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our New York City office. This person will be responsible for the design of building HVAC systems in support of a variety of sectors including Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, and Retail clients in new and existing buildings. This person will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation of drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings and submittals during construction. Experience in the design of building related mechanical systems such as VRF Systems, hydronic systems, exhaust and make-up air systems, energy recovery ventilators (ERVs), etc. is required. This individual should be self-motivated with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically-sound mechanical designs. This individual should be interested in working in a small company environment with a wide range of roles and responsibilities with accelerated growth potential.
Desired Skills and Experience
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- EIT and PE preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical (HVAC) design of building systems with an engineering consulting firm
- Strong computer knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software required.
- Knowledge of building mechanical codes and the ability to perform accurate load calculations
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design
- Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design
- Successful verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate directly with Architects and Clients without direct oversight
