Smart Phone Technician

Smart Phone Technician


Position Responsibilities:


  • Testing and benchmarking android and phone applications on various smart phone platforms.
  • Staying current with major smart phone developments and issues in order to anticipate and prevent problems
  • Maintain technical competence by keeping abreast of technology and technological developments, practices, procedures, etc.
  • Stay current on updates regarding new root and unlocking methods
  • Assist other teams/employees in configuring and supporting phone-based software applications
  • Program, configure, assemble, disassemble, and test smart phones
  • Identify sources for smart phones, purchase, maintain and track smart phone inventory
  • Program SIMS and configure smart phones to be compatible with G3’s test networks

Skills and Knowledge:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Proficient in configuring, using, and troubleshooting smart phones
  • Understanding and knowledge of rooting, custom recoveries, custom ROMs, firmware flashing, restoring device from soft-bricks, etc.
  • Ability to root / unroot / unbrick Android devices
  • Basic understanding of hardware, software, and firmware testing solutions
  • Experience with computers
  • Windows and Linux familiarity
  • Understanding of software testing best practices and defect reporting through resolution.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and high technical aptitude for assimilating technical concepts and new technology.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with SIM commissioning tools (Gemalto, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cellular communications and networks (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE)
  • Technical support or engineering background

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma is required
