Desktop Support Engineer - Winter 2020 Intern/Co-Op

Technology is a key component of Jane Street’s core business. Desktop Support works within the larger IT group to monitor and maintain a mixed Windows and Linux environment spread across a physical and virtual computing landscape on three continents. Desktop Support Engineer Interns provide support to end users, assist with Move-Add-Change (MAC) projects, and help develop and write internal tooling for IT Support. Jane Street is a highly collaborative environment and intern projects lead to exposure across other business units in trading and technology.

The ideal candidate is in the class of 2020 or 2021, a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, ready to roll up their sleeves and learn. We encourage new ideas and real-time feedback to better support our firm. As a Desktop Support Engineer Intern, your tasks and responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide hands-on support to end-users.
  • Assist with technology projects related to Move/Add/Change requests and infrastructure expansion.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Attend a mix of finance theory and technology classes to gain exposure to other technology groups in Jane Street.
