Co-Op - Spring / Summer 2020 - Cyber Security

We continue to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have exciting opportunities for a Co-op Student (January - August 2020) to join our Cyber Security team in our Quality Engineering division in Rockleigh, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Review Product Requirements, Architecture and Use Cases to identify, assess and test Threat Vectors
  • Perform security assessment to identify threat vectors, risks and best practices for product hardening
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
  • Apply industry standard analysis and test criteria
  • Deliver technical reports and formal papers on test findings
  • Collaborate with colleagues to verify implementation of adequate authentication, authorization and encryption measures
  • Check National Vulnerability Database to identify, assess and test whether posted vulnerabilities are subject to exploitation
  • Check 3rd Party Software componentry against National Vulnerability Database to identify, posted vulnerabilities
  • Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities

Qualifications:

General Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or a closely related field
  • Completed courses, certification, or equivalent knowledge in Cyber Security
  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire co-op period beginning in late January 2020 and ending in early August 2020
  • Must be commutable to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the co-op period

Technical Skills
  • Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Computer Operating System knowledge
  • Computer hardware knowledge
  • Familiar with intrusion detection and protection systems
  • Familiar with National Vulnerability Database postings that affect product security
  • Familiar with Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing and Exploitation Tools
  • Nmap, Nessus, Retina, Acunetix or Qualys
  • Metasploit, Fuzzing or BeEF

Other Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Inquisitive individual with a "student mentality" possessing a long term desire to work in the Cyber Security space
