Technology Co-op - Spring 2020 (Jersey City, NJ)

As a Technology Co-op you will be provided an opportunity to learn how TD Ameritrade succeeds in the financial services marketplace. The team you join may be just beginning a project, about to implement a project or be somewhere in between. Regardless, you will quickly see how our technical solutions directly meet the real world needs of our clients. This is a full‐time role (8 hours per day, Monday through Friday). These positions are located in our Jersey City NJ office. Participating as a co-op may lead to an offer to become a full‐time associate or an offer for a subsequent co-op or internship (depending on your graduation date). This position is for Spring 2020.

Security Software Analyst  
Candidate will work as an integral member of the TDA Software Security team. Candidate will learn about different types of software vulnerabilities, how attackers can capitalize on them and the best practices for developers to prevent these issues. This will be accomplished by mentoring and hands-on participation in security reviews and testing, in collaboration with security experts in our Jersey City office and with software developers throughout the firm.
Networking/Voice Development Analyst      
Networking Development Analyst – Candidate will work as a member of the Network Engineering teams (Voice and Data) at TDA, providing research, development and integration towards a better front-end/application-specific visibility on the teams services and offerings. This will be accomplished by hands-on participation, along with leadership/mentoring by the TDA management team and senior technical engineers on the team. 
Cloud Support Analyst
Candidate will work with design engineering teams to assist in the design and validation of a Private Cloud solution. He/she will develop personal relationships with project and engineering teams to assist in driving strategic initiatives to execution. The work will involve research/identification of potential solutions/products to support the strategic product direction for our Private Cloud.
Cloud Development Analyst   
Candidate will analyze, design, develop, and test scalable enterprise software systems which will interface with third party and private IaaS/PaaS offerings. He/she will assist with the development of innovative software solutions to extend our existing IaaS automation, production build environment and our Private Cloud implementation. The work will involve regular meetings and collaboration with engineering and architecture partners to understand business needs
Tech Ops Engineering Analyst 
As a member of the Technology Operations System Engineering team, you will be part of an organization that leads the ideation and development of initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency and capabilities of services provided by the Technology Operations team. Opportunities include (a) working within a team leverage Agile SCRUM and Kanban frameworks for effort collaborate and delivery, (b) partnering with technology operations peers to develop User Interface (UI) prototypes and User Experiences (UX) to create greater availability to information and actions currently performed by operations team members, (c) leveraging modern development and database languages to build backend systems that will act as a framework for current and future initiatives and (d) developing a better understanding how infrastructure is leveraged including server operating systems, middleware & database platforms, enhance automation and monitoring strategies. 
Security Engineering Analyst  
Candidate will work with product engineering teams to assist in the secure design and validation of their offerings, as well as the security owned products that protect the firm. He/she will develop personal relationships with project and engineering teams to assist in driving strategic security initiatives to execution. The work will involve research/identification of potential solutions/products to support the strategic product direction for our internal and public security posture.


Responsibilities

  • Application Developers will join a team and be assigned design, coding, testing, implementation and support tasks
  • Technology Engineers will join a team and be assigned hardware, software, and operating system tasks focused on upgrades, capacity planning or recovery
  • Business Analysts will join a team and be assigned business process analysis, requirements gathering, and project tracking tasks
All co-ops will:
  • Work with internal customers to define business problems/opportunities as well as the solution requirements, design, and testing approach
  • Be a member of a team that supports a functional area of the business; specific projects assigned will be determined on individual education and experience level
  • Gain direct exposure to agile methodologies

Requirements
  • Current enrollment in a four year or graduate program - Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Software Engineering
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; prior internship or co-op experience is a plus
  • Ability to understand and assimilate with TD Ameritrade core values of people matter, client centric, integrity first, work together and strive to win
