UPC Intern Requirements
1. Duties and Expectations
Field engineer intern will perform the following tasks:
- Tracking payment quantities
- Performing material takeoffs
- Ordering materials and scheduling subcontractors
- Recording daily timesheets and foreman reports
- Getting new trade workers signed up
- Coordinate submittals from vendors and subcontractors
- Craft RFIs and submit to project owner
- Assist project managers and superintendents with their daily duties
- Cost tracking of extra work performed on the project
- Safety management
Estimating Department Intern will perform the following tasks:
- Assist estimating department in putting together bids
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs
- Gain an understanding of the specifications for each project
- Understand how the bid process works
- Contact vendors and subcontractors as necessary
- Introduction to Heavy-Bid software
