About this Job:
Our entry level positions are well suited for people with earth science, engineering, geography and construction management backgrounds. This job is a great position for recent graduates or people with degrees who have limited or no experience. If you have a degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science or Civil Engineering this job will provide you with valuable hands on experience and the work history needed to acquire a Professional Geologist, Engineers or Soil Scientist License. Our field personnel will be able to use their degree to help interpret and identify soil, water and rock characteristics and engineering properties used in the development of construction projects.
Responsibilities Include:
• Soil/Asphalt Compaction Testing
• Soil/Rock Sampling Testing and Classification
• Observation for the Construction of Earth Retaining Structures
• Bearing Capacity Foundation Evaluation and Testing
• Soil Stabilization and ground improvement Observation Sampling and Testing
• Implementation of Deep Foundation Elements (Caissons, Piles, piers etc.)
• Sinkhole Mitigation and Remediation
• Infiltration and Permeability Testing
• Reinforced concrete and masonry observations, and testing
• Interpreting, Site Plans, Geotechnical Reports, Infiltration reports Carbonate and Environmental Site Assessments
• Documentation and Reporting of Field Activities and Contributing to the Generation of Technical Reports.
This position is entry level but, GTA provides in house training, and will pay for all relevant technical training and certifications and provide one-time bonuses upon completion. Proficient technicians will be provided with the opportunity to cross train and move into our environmental and geotechnical departments as they pursue their professional geologist/engineering / soil scientist license.
