This opportunity:
Techno is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in New York or New Jersey. This position is expected to begin in January 2023. We are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our design team who wish to establish a career in civil engineering, specific to design projects. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about civil engineering, and passionate about pursuing a career focused construction management. This is a field-based role comprising approximately 80% office work and 20% field-based work. The candidate will join a established team involved in projects with our Design Team and be a part of various projects for various government agencies across the New York Metropolitan area.
The duties for the ideal candidate are as follows:
What You’ll Do:
Assist the design team in preparing proposals and responses to solicitations.
Develop and organize, update and format marketing materials (resumes, project sheets, project lists, etc.)
Working with the pursuit team to develop original content for inclusion in the proposal or response to solicitation including cover letters, executive summaries and graphics development.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company, resources, and conduct, and adhere to Techno's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Develop drawings for Preliminary through Final Design packages in AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Work on projects valued over several million dollars for major public infrastructure clients including New York City Department of Design and Construction
  • Work on the design of drainage systems, sustainability programs, pedestrian ramps, pedestrian plazas, parks and other public infrastructure
  • Use computer softwares as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Assist the design team in preparing proposals and responses to solicitations.
  • Develop knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned design projectspecifications.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with the pursuit team to develop original content for inclusion in the
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company, resources and conduct, and adhere to Techno's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and technical leaders.
  • Perform work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Receive, review, and submit documents for approval (Submittals/ RFIs/ etc.)
  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
 


Tools you’ll need:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
F.E. preferred, with P.E. track expected
1-5 years of experience in Civil Design Engineering
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
An attitude which proactively contributes to and participates in a team environment.
Conscientious and flexible, willing to go the extra mile and a positive, can-do attitude.
Must be a strong team player.
Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
Work hours: 8AM to 5PM (Mon- Fri)

Compensation:

The rate for this position will vary based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
