Financial Systems Analyst

The Financial Systems Analyst will support the Director of Accounting Ops and Systems in maintaining the Workday application for Accounting, including but not limited to; assisting with Workday System testing, assisting with accounting support questions, and providing project management support as needed. 
Core Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Support day to day operational accounting functions for multiple schools and companies, within the Uncommon Schools organization
  • Connect with school-based staff as well as Home Office staff in order to address Accounting Support inquiries using Zendesk ticketing system
  • Test new and existing system functionality bi-annually and as needed
  • Assist with Accounting projects as well as cross-functional initiatives as needed
  • Take advantage of system training to Serve as a report writing resource for Accounting
  • Assist with implementing and developing an Accounting Training Program
  • Maintain and compile process documentation 
  • Conduct research required for strategic team initiatives, special projects, and other special requests
  • Perform various accounting, administrative, and other related duties as assigned and required by the role 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of accounting principles 
  • Experience with accounting systems. (Work Day preferred)
  • Experience working in a multi-site organization preferred
  • Skilled in use of MS Excel
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well on a team as well as individually
Education Requirements 
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related area 
Experience Requirements
  • 2-3 years of accounting and or financial systems

Compensation for this position: The starting compensation for this role based in New York is between $74,000-$87,000k and generally, we expect that qualified candidates in this location will be made an offer between $74,000 to $78,300k. The starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. Because we value staff staying in their roles over time, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
