Food Buying Club Intern

Job Description

The Buying Club Intern will assist the Buying Club Manager in maintaining and advancing The Harvest in its goal to expand access to affordable, healthy food. The FBCI will help find ways to communicate and engage with current and potential members of The Harvest. The FBCI will also learn about and assist in the behind-the-scenes management of the buying club.





Responsibilities:

  • Update all marketing materials to match The Harvest Communication Toolkit
  • Design sales and promotions during the holiday season
  • Update contact information for current members
  • Coordinate volunteers and new volunteer trainings in routine tasks
  • Plan, prepare and execute community events and member-only events
  • Contribute to discussions for creating quarterly program goals
  • Complete projects as needed to help advance the Buying Club
  • Assist in managing Buying Club weekly operations




Qualifications:

  • People-oriented
  • Attention to details and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of program design and execution
  • Organization skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with Google Suite and Canva
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Arabic) is preferred but not required




Working Agreement:

  • The position is a part-time internship position for 15 hours/ 15 weeks (September - December) (flexible days/times depending on credit requirements)
  • Office hours will be determined with direct supervisor
  • Accountable to the Buying Club Manager and the Senior Manager of Food Security
