Digital Product Manager Internship- Digital Foundry

We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the Summer of 2024. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Digital Product Platform Managers (PPMs), whose responsibilities are to define and build new IoT platform products and services to deliver IoT asset management solutions for Carrier business units. 
  • Working closely with application product managers, architects, engineers, designers, and business leaders to help define and prioritize the APIs, services, and features that enable application delivery speed to market, economies of scale, consistent service enablement, and improved asset performance. 
  • Ability to assess use cases for IoT-enabled asset management solutions and gather platform services requirements. 
  • Breaking down complex problems into root causes and corrective action recommendations. 
  • Supporting competitive analyses for 3rd party services and/or make/buy decision analyses. 
  • Working with customers and application product managers to understand needs and ensure defined requirements will meet the needs of consumer product applications. 
  • Ability to plan and facilitate planning and requirements gathering meetings, working closely with engineering and program management product teams. 
  • Working collaboratively across globally distributed functions and BUs to ensure the Digital Foundry strategy is aligned, earning consensus and support from leaders and stakeholders. 
  • Practicing agile development methodologies. 
  • Setting and monitoring relevant KPIs for the product to align with key objectives and goals of the product as it pertain to the business value. 
  • Working closely to monitor field trials and pilots, identifying key target dates and progress as it relates to those milestones.  
  • Define and monitor key product success metrics such as feature usage and usability.   

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3.0 or higher GPA  
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Relevant coursework or previous internships are preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience using JIRA and agile methodologies. 
  • Working with APIs. 
  • Exposure to AWS cloud services. 
  • Exposure to PaaS or SaaS digital products. 
  • Experience with defining software product workflows, customer needs analyses, data analytics, or software quality testing. 
  • Business acumen – able to discern and distill product requirements into platform services requirements and epics. 
  • Experience with business cost-benefit analysis and requirements gathering. 
  • Technical acumen – able to assist with breaking down technical problems and finding root causes. 
  • Experience with User-Centered Design approach for SaaS products.
  • Flexibility and mobility to be located in either West Palm Beach, Florida, or Atlanta, Georgia location.
