Claims Recovery Representative

 

American National is seeking a Claims Recovery Representative. In this role you will actively pursue funds through the subrogation process from adverse carriers, uninsured responsible parties, and other companies deemed liable. Claims experience is not required for this role but would be beneficial. You may also be a fit for this position if you have customer service, medical claims, collections, or banking experience. 

 

What Will You Do?

 

•    Work claims files through Subrogation/Litigation consideration
•    Understand state negligence laws and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, while identifying recovery opportunities and considering overall claims exposures
•    Learn applicable state laws and statutes as assigned, while adhering to both compliance regulations and organizational processes
•    Conduct subrogation procedures on claims files, including forwarding demands, negotiating settlements, recovering eligible coverages, recognizing the need for arbitration or litigation, and utilizing appropriate vendors
•    Work with judicial agencies in appropriate states to recover ordered restitution  
•    When negotiations cease, prepare for, and manage the next step of inter-company arbitration or subrogation litigation, partnering with vendors when applicable to ensure maximum recovery
•    Participate as an Arbitration panelist to hear arbitration cases 
•    Serve as back-up or support in the event of a catastrophe and/or seasonal events


Requirements

 

•    High School diploma or equivalent
•    Currently hold an appropriate state adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated / No out of pocket expenses)
•    Two years' of relevant claims and/or subrogation experience (Similar work experience considered) / Example: Customer service roles, Medical claims, Collections, Banking)
 

Preferred Qualifications

 

•    Four year completed degree in related field (Criminal Justice, Insurance and Risk Management, Business, Communications)
•    Subrogation experience
•    Investigation and negotiation skills
•    Aptitude to understand individual state, legal, and regulatory compliance
•    Insurance designation(s) and/or willingness to continue education
•    Must be an effective and organized multi-tasker
•    High attention to detail and follow-up
•    Must be comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
