AmeriCorps Groundwork Fellow

The Minnesota Alliance With Youth is looking for our next cohort of passionate and dedicated individuals to serve as Groundwork Fellow AmeriCorps members. This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to making a lasting impact on communities by addressing education-related challenges. As a Groundwork Fellow member, you will play a crucial role in building capacity, fostering sustainable solutions, and creating lasting change.


Alliance Groundwork Fellow Position Responsibilities

  • Community Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough research and assessments to identify the root causes of poverty within the community.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with team members to design and implement programs that address the identified needs and contribute to sustainable community development.
  • Resource Mobilization: Identify and pursue funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support the organization's initiatives.
  • Capacity Building: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's capacity to serve the community effectively, including volunteer management and training programs.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report on data related to program outcomes, community impact, and resource utilization.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with community stakeholders, residents, and partners to build relationships and ensure the organization's work aligns with the community's needs.
  • Marketing and Communication: Develop marketing materials and communication strategies to raise awareness of the organization's programs and initiatives.

AmeriCorps Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old by start date
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National or have status as a Lawful Permanent Resident.
  • Final candidates will be required to pass the National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC)


Alliance Groundwork Fellow Qualifications

  • Interest in youth, service, education, and non-profit work
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of tasks, priorities, and people to meet goals
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team, take the initiative and work independently
  • Able to present oneself in a highly professional manner and be an ambassador of the program


Weekly Schedule

  • Daily schedules vary from site to site. 
  • Groundwork Fellow Members serve in a full-time capacity for a minimum of 35 hours per week during their term of service.
  • AmeriCorps Groundwork Fellow Members may NOT be in school full-time or have another full-time position and serve with the Alliance.
