Architectural Associate I - Design Strategy

We are currently seeking an Architectural Associate to join our Buildings Strategy Design Team. This is a hybrid position located in the Jacksonville office, in studio 3 days a week, work remote the other 2 days.

Job Summary This is a design position, will be reporting directly to the firms design director This design position entails a combination of highly technical abilities and proficiency in traditional mediums and Model building. The ideal candidate should possess strong design skills to develop innovative concepts and effectively articulate design intent

 

Essential Functions:

  • Collaboration with multiple design teams within the building design strategy group and the firm is a crucial aspect of the role, fostering a dynamic and cooperative work environment.
  • The selected individual will have the opportunity to contribute to significant pursuits and projects, playing a key role in shaping impactful designs
  • Research and development are given great emphasis, with a focus on integrating new findings and technologies into the design workflow to drive innovation and excellence
  • The selected individual will report to RS&H’s Strategy Design Leader and, as such, will work across all the company’s buildings markets

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-year Bachelor or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Rhinoceros 3D: Creating, editing, analyzing, and manipulating complex geometries. Importing and exporting various file formats. Fluid form generation and creation abilities
  • Grasshopper: Understanding and creating visual programming language for iterative design workflows
  • Model building capabilities, familiar with 3D printers and laser cutters, and other traditional model building skills
  • Strong designer with robust visual and creative abilities
  • Desire to explore new technologies and incorporate them into the design process
  • SketchUp: Creating and importing modeling information, integrating sketches and watercolors
  • Revit: Basic understanding, ability to open files, import/export, and set up views
  • Rendering and visualization software: Using tools to create artistic, realistic images and videos

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong design, proficient with the tools and software a designer uses
  • Proficiency in traditional mediums such as drawing and sketching
  • Ability to present design concepts effectively
  • Willingness to travel
