Job Type: Part-Time Non-Exempt

Location: Slate is located at 54 W. 21st Street, NY, NY and is located in the heart of Chelsea. Slate remains one of New York City’s iconic hotspots. Slate hosts upscale comedy shows with comfortable bar and lounge seating, live events and music performances in the energetic nightclub. Slate offers 16,000 square feet of dynamic space over two floors with an option to slide down to our game level via our 20-foot slide! The expansive adult playground provides excitement and challenges for those eager for friendly, competitive fun. With an elegant design, flexible layout, chef driven menu, and an extensive adult gaming area, Slate is the place to be.

Job Summary: As a Host you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and organized atmosphere for our event and general admission guests. Your primary responsibilities will include warmly greeting and directing guests, managing reservations, and organizing game setups. You will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone of hospitality for their experience at our establishment.
 

Responsibilities:
1.       Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival.
2.       Check in event guests, hand out wristbands, and track headcounts.
3.       Manage guest reservations and seating arrangements efficiently according to the nightly floorplans, ensuring timely and accurate service.
4.       Coordinate with staff to maintain a smooth flow of guests to their designated areas.
5.       Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and gaming areas.
6.       Assist guests with inquiries, providing information about available games (pool, ping pong, the arcade, and foosball), game payments, menus, and events.
7.       Collaborate with the management team to address any guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
8.       Monitor the waitlist and accurately estimate wait times, keeping guests informed of their status.
9.       Uphold company standards for customer service excellence and guest satisfaction.
10.   Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.

Requirements:
1.       Preferred candidates will have prior experience in hospitality or customer service roles. Students with majors in hospitality, event planning, tourism, marketing, business, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
2.       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; and professional appearance and demeanor.
3.       Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
4.       Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
5.       Enthusiastic and outgoing personality with a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
6.       Knowledge of basic computer software.
7.       Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Rate of Pay: $20 per hour
