Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor

Currie & Brown is seeking a local recent graduate or future graduate who has either 1-2 years of construction industry related experience or who has no experience and is ready to start their career with the right company in our Bellevue office!

A general list of responsibilities we task our Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor is as follows:
  • Involve in global tech companies’ projects in Greater Seattle Area or Pacific Northwest
  • Develop and maintain budget and track project costs throughout the life of projects
  • Change management, estimate impacts of changes and contingency drawdown
  • Monthly cost reporting and budget reconciliation
  • Develop risk register and track impacts
  • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
  • Undertaking payment recommendations and review of contractor / consultant invoices
  • Developing cost bucketing (WBS) and cost breakdowns
  • Cost estimating through various design stages using past experience, historical data and parametric ratios
  • Supporting client account management
  • Communicating details effectively to internal and external stakeholders including presentation
  • Establish new and maintain existing project controls tools
 
Qualities and experience we look for in Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor:
  • Experience working on large complex capital projects not required but a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products (MS Word, Excel, Project)
  • Candidates with the ability to be self-managing and require minimum supervision
  • Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to lead, mentor and develop a successful team
  • Organized with ability to manage work load
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related technical field preferable
