IT Intern

Position Overview:

The IT intern will primarily assist the IT team with routine tasks, requests, and issues. The intern will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of internal systems that support the day-to-day operations of all Astound Broadband offices. The ideal candidate will also provide responsive and efficient end user support on a variety of IT related issues.

 

Where you will work:

  • This position will be based in Astound’s San Marcos, TX office.

 

A Day in the Life of the IT Intern:

  • Provide support for all Windows-based end-user experiences from the initial account provision requests, access permissions, equipment cycle changes and/or any encountered issues through to system de-provisioning and additional processing.
  • Categorize and prioritize incidents based on their severity and impact on business operations.
  • Provide initial analysis and troubleshooting to identify the root cause of incidents.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades and improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in time-sensitive situations; aptitude to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of computer networks and infrastructure as well as IT concepts code design/unit testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.

 

Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

 

Compensation:

The base compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. The base pay represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job.
