Project Controls Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Providing document control support to multi-discipline project team members across all phases of the design and construction process.
  • Coordinate, manage, and maintain the document control systems for multiple projects.
  • Develop positive working relationships between the project team and subcontractors, trade vendors, and clients.
  • Review documents relating to all phases of the design and construction process and ensuring accuracy and compliance in both documentation and correspondence between design/ construction team and outside parties.
  • Organize and manage all submittals, meeting minutes, drawings, specifications, and approvals.
  • Work with the Project Manager, Construction Administrator in reviewing and submitting contracts relating to contractor-client correspondence, insurance, contractor invoices, progress payments, and change orders.
  • Ensure project document control standards and issued documentation meets the contract requirements.
  • Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
  • Other related duties and tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Experience in handling large complex projects with many stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, architecture or in a related field highly preferred.
  • Experience with engineering, architectural, design and construction documents (i.e., plans, drawings, technical specifications, etc.)
  • 3 or more years of experience in Document Control with technical submittals, field memos, drawing logs, project reports and photos, Requests for Information, and contract plans, specifications and change documents.
  • Experience with Procore or ProjectWise is preferred.
  • Prior experience with MTA is preferred.
  • Previous project experience in transportation – rail or bridge helpful.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
