Writer/Reporter Intern

We are proud to announce the development of the A7FL Internship Program, providing opportunities for college students and those looking to expand their network and experience in the sports management and entertainment field. We welcome passionate and hard-working individuals that are looking to get hands-on with a football team or even the league offices.

We offer two internship seasons, pre-season (Aug-March) and in-season (March-July), but an internship can begin at any time. Most of our interns work both seasons, and many of our interns go on to a paid position after their internship period is over.

As we build up our marketing and reporting team we would like you to review our openings and see if you may be a good fit to join the league. If so, we would love to review your resume and cover letter outlining your education path, experience related in any way to the internship position, and links to any relevant work you may have produced or contributed to.

Although not a mandate, we are very interested in candidates located in or near our division locations in Asbury Park, New Jersey; Washington DC; Orlando/Tampa, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada; Cincinnati/Columbus, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California.

Description: Writer/Reporter interns will write long-form and short-form stories, press releases, and online content. Candidates must have a passion for football that carries into their writing. Assignments will include game coverage, player stories, league business, and other stories as assigned. This is an unpaid internship that can be taken for college credit.

Requirements:
· Bachelor degree (or in college for degree) in Communication or Journalism
· Journalistic or storytelling skills
· Excellent written English
· Photography and video skills a plus
· Must be able to work flexible hours and some weekends in-season

Responsibilities (will consist of but are not limited to):
· Write and develop stories as assigned
· Develop storylines related to the sport, business or culture of A7FL
· Design page and creative layouts on stories for the website and social media
· Explore ideas and opportunities to reach our audience and beyond
