THE NJ WIND INSTITUTE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM at NJIT - Overview
The project research team at NJIT will include four students, two undergraduate and two graduate, who will be guided by faculty researchers. Together the team, working in a creative fashion, are tasked to develop fresh perspectives and original concepts supporting the growth of offshore wind power generation and energy usage in New Jersey. Projects may include such topics as structural design, environmental impact, construction, materials, energy generation, conversion and distribution, and regulatory and public policy issues.

The State of New Jersey, under the administration of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), has developed the Wind Institute. The purpose is to coordinate and accelerate offshore wind workforce training, education, research, and innovation to meet the needs of the State’s growing offshore wind industry. To support student learning, the Wind Institute has established the NJ Wind Institute Fellowship Program for students seeking to be at the forefront of advancing knowledge and innovation in the offshore wind industry in New Jersey.

The Wind Institute offers fellowships to NJIT students (undergraduate, master’s and PhD) who are not expected to complete their degree requirements prior to May 2025 the opportunity to conduct paid, independent research related to offshore wind.
