Software Engineer

TITLE:                           Software Engineer

EMPLOYER:                 Stripe, Inc. 

DUTIES:                       Develop scalable computer systems that manage a large volume of information and use them to fulfill business goals for Stripe and its partners; Build model training and scoring infrastructure, in close collaboration with data scientists and machine learning engineers; Design, implement and deploy adaptable policy engines that use this information to output internal assessments, perform scoring, and derive automated actions for mitigating financial risk and increase the efficiency of Stripe’s global risk mitigation program; Design and build tools that ingest and process signals from various sources to make them more accessible for our partner teams; Participate in all parts of the software development workflow and see the projects through to completion, including their large-scale deployment; Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes; Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams

LOCATION:                   South San Francisco, CA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS:         Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related and 3 years of software engineering experience

Position requires the following:

3 years of experience building end-to-end automation solutions in Python, Ruby, or Java;

3 years of experience building scalable production software based on cloud infrastructures like AWS;

3 years of experience building machine learning pipelines;

3 years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases for large dataset;

3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs;

3 years of experience building, monitoring and alarming tools for distributed systems;

3 years of experience debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; and,

3 years of experience translating business needs into software requirements and designs.

SALARY:                      $181,272 -$198,100/year
