Architecture Project Manager

Mayta + Sebastian Architecture DPC is an Architectural Design and Consulting firm recognized for its expertise in building, design, forensics, and restoration/rehabilitation. Our firm provides new design and restoration services to clients in a wide range of industries including residential, commercial, education, and industrial. This is a key position on our team with leadership potential as we grow our practice. Potential candidates will lead a variety of scale projects under the supervision of our Senior Architects. The candidate will provide the technical design, detailing, and specification of restoration and FISP projects and selective design projects, and exercise independent judgment, but will receive guidance on complex details or issues.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the clients to clearly define the scope of work and budget
  • Develop complete construction documents including drawings, sketches, and specifications
  • Travel to job sites to collect and prepare data for evaluation, review construction work quality and progress, conduct pre-bid meetings and lead construction progress meetings
  • Review of contractor submittals and respond to contractor Requests for Information.
  • Communicate via phone, email, and sketches to clarify design intent with Contractors
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining good client relationships
  • Manage and provide construction administration and oversight including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums (CCD's), visiting construction sites to gather information, and/or preparing punch lists
  • Track the construction schedule and budget
  • Resolve issues that are discovered in the field
  • Apply sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of assignments. Provide technical development of various project types; façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, forensic investigation and interior alterations, etc.
  • Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
  • Execute projects independently and with a small group of employees
  • Perform building site inspections
  • Actively participate in a team environment
  • A Project Manager can expect to be “in the field” between 25% - 75% of their time during any given week

Experience

  • Must have 2-4 years of field experience with historic preservation, restoration, and building envelope projects
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
  • REVIT experience preferred.
